Investing in eternity is the wisest thing anyone can ever do. Now that you are in Christ – you are in the kingdom of God . You can walk with complete confidence as God’s child , knowing that you can come boldly before God and talk to him freely about the things on your heart , the things on your mind . Make your requests , fears , joys , hopes , questions -everything known to him and you will get an answer from him. God answers prayer not only in biblical times , but we speak of things we have seen ourselves , as normal people in the 21st century! The Lord Jesus Christ sent us the Holy Spirit , who you can ask God for to help you in your daily walk. Like a 24/7 personal guide, but He is God.
Being a child of God does not mean that you will not face any challenges, unfortunately while we are here on earth these things will happen. Jesus warned us about this and many people get discouraged when they face challenges. You are not a citizen of the world , your home is heaven . You carry the light of God . So while you are in this ‘foreign’ land – there will be some turbulence here and there because you are not part of the system of the world anymore. However do not be afraid or shaken when you face any trouble , because God promises to be with you in all things and you will not be overcome by anything that comes your way. If God is for you – who can be against you? No seriously – who? It is not even a competition. God is Bigger than BIG ,All powerful , and he is your father.
We recommend finding a church that teaches the word of God , where you can meet other people who have their hearts set on God .This will encourage you on your way and help you make connections with people who can support you in making the changes you may need. Read the bible, a few chapters a day slowly – the book of John is a good place to start. Talk to God as easily as you would talk to a friend asking him to explain his word to you and show you the way , and listen to some good praise and worship music you can sing along to as you grow. These three steps done consistently will get you very far in developing your roots in God and you will be well on your way.
You may be tempted to go back to old ways, but ask God to deliver you from those temptations through his power which overcomes all things. If you slip , do not condemn yourself , but come back to him immediately , don’t let it fester. Ask for forgiveness and the power to repent and turn 180 degrees away from sin so you do not keep falling in the same trap. The book of Romans helps show you how to live a Christian life and practical steps you can take.
Always know that we and the whole body of Christ are rooting for you . Continue on this path ! Jesus died for you and you have a free eternal gift that is so valuable it can not be bought . Do not be tempted to leave this amazing offer for anything at all in the world , not even for a moment – you are on the right path.
